Easter egg events are the headline
for the weekend in Hot Springs and in our Diamondhead community. Lake
Catherine State Park will host an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday for children 12 and
under hunting candy-filled eggs in a beautiful setting at the Park. Hunters
will meet 2-3 p.m. at the Picnic Hill Pavilion. Call 501.844.4176 for more
information.
Right down the road from the Park at Diamondhead
Resort Community the children will gather on Saturday at the Kiddie
Coral to hunt eggs, visit with the Easter Bunny and enjoy face painting. Call 501.262.4470
for more information.
On April 25 and 26 Garvan Woodland Gardens,
our other neighbor, will sponsor a program on “Naturally Dyed Eggs” where children
can drop in from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and learn to dye eggs that create stunning
colors from certain plants that contain powerful dyes. The children will also
learn more about the plants while dyeing their eggs. Call 501.262.9300 for information.
Also, starting this weekend on April
19 and continuing through April 27, Hot Springs will celebrate National Park
Week each day with fun and creative events taking place in the Park. A portion
of Hot Springs actually sits in the National Park. How fun and what an exciting
week we have coming. The week includes wellness events, tours and information
on the bathhouses, tea time with tea made from the thermal water, Junior Ranger
Day on Saturday and concludes April 27 with the Fordyce Bathhouse Tour. For
more information call 501.620.6715 or visit www.nps.gov/hosp.
Every week of the year exciting and
fun events are planned in the Hot Springs area. I’m looking forward to seeing
the excited children at the Easter Egg Hunts this weekend and participating in
National Park Week. When you have free time this weekend or next week, we’d
also love to have you visit our Diamondhead community and
check out the amenities we enjoy year-around. Call the Diamondhead office
at 501.520.9201 or 501.262.9310 to schedule a tour.
